columbus!

guess who i saw over the wkend!..=)

columbus looks like a town from the movies!
very quaint and usa!

u know..it's actually weird going to the place that sam has spent 10 years of his life without us...
he's actually known his friends there longer that he's known me and it's always weird when u get introduced into ur friend's life that you were never a part of..
last time..i used to think that he was coming home when he came back from usa..
now i understand..he was visiting us and ohio is home..
i know he must be very sad to have to leave on sat..
but my dear lao dieh..i'm sure u'll come home one day...

i also got this huge revelation after talking to him...although it was only for a day..
seriously...it was only 24 hrs coz darling continental HAD to cancel my flight out on friday and the only available flight was 2pm on sat...(-_-'''')
i actually got up early to attempt to catch an earlier flight..but of course..that was full and there were only 2 flights on wkends...(-_-''')
let's just say i know newark airport pretty well by now......

anyway...back to my revelation..
i had been extremely critical of the US previously...not that i was adverse to this place..it just never was high on my list as a place to live in
maybe it's coz of the many many stories i've heard about the politics and people here
even now..i must confess that i still don't see the character of this place (maybe it's just nyc)
but now i understand that there is beauty in this place that others can see and appreciate...
i shouldn't have judged it so quickly...
i may not love it but i shan't criticise it....=) or that's what i hope i can do....=)
